Our American Type Hose Clamps are engineered for reliability and high-tension sealing. Characterized by their perforated band and four-piece housing construction, these clamps are the industry standard for automotive, aircraft, and general industrial hose connections across the Americas and beyond.

The American type hose clamp is a kind of worm drive clamp. It features a perforated galvanized steel band paired with a worm gear tightening mechanism, offering superior adjustability and secure fastening for hose applications. The perforations along the band reduce weight while maintaining structural integrity, ensuring even pressure distribution.

How to use:

Taking the common size 21-44 as an example:

- In delivery state, the clamp’s inner diameter must exceed the maximum range (32mm) to allow easy fitting over the hose.

- When fully tightened, its diameter should remain below the minimum range (18mm) to ensure a secure, slip-free grip.

- The recommended hose outer diameter must fall within the nominal adjustment range (18-32mm) for optimal clamping performance.

A: The primary difference is the band design. American clamps use a perforated band (slots cut through the band), whereas German clamps have a non-perforated, embossed band. American clamps are typically preferred in the US market for their high-torque performance and wide availability of SAE sizes.

Q2: Can I get these clamps with a quick-release or thumb-screw option?

A: Yes. While our standard American type uses a hex screw, we also manufacture Quick Release and Thumb-Screw (Butterfly) variations for applications requiring frequent manual adjustments without tools.

Q3: How do I prevent the perforated band from damaging soft hoses?

A: For very soft silicone or thin-walled hoses, we recommend our Lined American Clamps. These feature an internal liner that covers the perforations, providing the strength of an American clamp with the protection of a smooth-band design.
