1/2”band width worm drive clamp, is also called as metal worm gear clamp.It is engineered based on the operating principle of worm gear mechanisms.
-- What is a worm gear?
-- A worm gear system consists of a helical worm shaft that engages with a mating worm wheel, creating a 90-degree change in rotation axis. The relative positioning of these components determines the resulting plane of motion.
Just like the worm gear mechanisms, the metal worm gear clamp is a precision-engineered fastening solution consisting of three core components:
- A rolled steel band with uniformly spaced perforations
- A worm gear screw mechanism
- A formed housing that encapsulates the screw assembly.
When the worm rotates, its threads mesh with the gear teeth, causing the band to tighten. This reduces the clamp’s diameter, creating a secure, uniform seal around the hose or pipe. The self-locking nature of the worm gear prevents loosening under vibration, ensuring a reliable hold.
Material:
Multiple material options available.
W1 - All parts carbon steel with zinc plated. (screw, hosing and band)
W2 - Hosing and band stainless steel 201 or 301, screw carbon steel with zinc/nickel plated
W4 - All parts stainless steel 201 or 304. (screw, hosing and band)
