Our Solid Band Hose Clamps, also known as German Type clamps, are engineered for applications where hose protection and high sealing pressure are paramount. Unlike standard American clamps, our solid band design features an embossed thread rather than perforations. This ensures the band remains smooth on the underside, preventing the hose material from extruding through the band under tension.
The british hose clamp is also called solid band hose clamps, complies with BS-5315 international standard. While maintaining the fundamental three-component structure (clamp hosing, adjusting screw and stainless steel band) same to traditional worm drive clamps, it features distinct engineering enhancements: the inner surface of the band is smooth and mirror-polished for optimal sealing, while the exterior employs precision-rolled threads for accurate torque control.

British hose clamp Material:
W4 - All parts stainless steel 301/304

Features:
Traditional threaded hose clamps carry the risk of thread teeth embedding into the hose surface during tightening, which under prolonged vibration conditions may cause structural tearing of the conduit material. By contrast, the British hose clamp (solid band hose clamps) smooth inner band design completely eliminates this failure mode. The non-threaded structure offers three key advantages:
- The increased effective load-bearing area ensures uniform distribution of clamping force, making it particularly suitable for damage-free fastening of soft materials like silicone and rubber tubes
- Its full-circumference seamless contact provides exceptional performance in critical sealing applications such as fuel lines and hydraulic systems, significantly reducing media permeation risks
- The continuous smooth contact surface effectively prevents localized stress concentration that could lead to conduit deformation.

FAQ
Q1: Why should I choose a solid band clamp over a perforated one?
A: Perforated bands (American Type) can act like a cheese grater on soft hoses when tightened. Solid band clamps have a smooth inner surface that distributes pressure evenly without cutting the hose, making them the superior choice for silicone and thin-walled tubing.
Q2: What do W2, W4, and W5 mean in your specifications?
A: These are material grades per DIN standards. W2 uses a stainless steel band with a zinc-plated screw. W4 is entirely SS304. W5 is entirely SS316, which offers the highest corrosion resistance for marine or chemical environments.
Q3: Are these clamps suitable for high-vibration environments?
A: Yes. The precision-fit housing and embossed band threads provide a secure mechanical lock that resists loosening even under constant vibration in diesel engines or industrial machinery.
