Product Description

DIN 3016 1 is a German Industrial Standard that specifies the requirements for constant tension (spring) hose clamps. Unlike worm drive clamps (e.g., DIN 3017) which are manually tightened and can loosen over time, constant tension clamps are designed to automatically maintain a pre-defined clamping force, even as the hose and fitting expand and contract with temperature changes.

Stainless steel Rubber lined R clamp is one type of DIN 3016 1 clamps. The Stainless Steel Rubber R-Type Clip (often called an R-clamp or R-type hose clamp) is a specialized, lightweight clamping device designed specifically for securing hoses, tubes, or cables to a fixed mounting point. Unlike worm-drive clamps that tighten radially, the R-clamp is designed for axial mounting and is characterized by its simple, cost-effective, and efficient design.

Key Features of DIN 3016 1 Clamps

Material Construction:

Clip Body: Made from stainless steel strip (typically AISI 304 or 316 grade), providing excellent corrosion resistance, essential for harsh environments like automotive engine bays, marine applications, or outdoor use.

Rubber Lining/Cushion: A key feature is the rubber or EPDM sleeve that is often vulcanized or fitted onto the inner arch of the clamp. This lining protects the hose or component being held from abrasion, vibration, and noise. It also provides enhanced grip and electrical insulation.

R-Shaped Design:

The clamp is formed into a shape that looks like a squared letter "R". The top arch is designed to loop around the hose, while the two lower legs are used for fastening.

The design allows for quick and easy installation and removal.

Fastening Mechanism:

The two legs of the "R" have holes that allow a bolt, screw, or cable tie to pass through, securing the clamp tightly to a chassis, bracket, or panel.

This design converts the axial tension of the bolt into a radial clamping force around the hose.

Performance Advantages:

Vibration Damping: The rubber lining absorbs vibrations and prevents chafing, protecting the hose.

Corrosion Resistance: Stainless steel construction ensures long-term durability.

Electrical Insulation: The rubber lining prevents galvanic corrosion by insulating the stainless steel clamp from dissimilar metals (e.g., aluminium parts).

Easy Installation: Can be quickly mounted with a single bolt.

Lightweight and Cost-Effective.
