Not all stainless steel is created equal. At RockClamp, our Stainless Steel Worm Drive Clamps are manufactured using high-purity AISI 304. While standard galvanized clamps fail in high-moisture or chemical settings, our full-stainless construction ensures long-term structural integrity and zero-leak performance in the most demanding environments.
It is a versatile and widely used clamping device designed to secure hoses onto fittings, pipes, or nozzles. It consists of a stainless steel band with perforations and a worm gear (screw mechanism) that tightens the clamp when turned.

Why Our Stainless Steel Series Stands Out:
Full-Body Stainless Construction: Unlike "Partial Stainless" (W2) clamps, our W4 and W5 series feature stainless steel bands, housings, AND screws for maximum galvanic corrosion resistance.
Marine-Grade SS316 (W5): Specifically designed for offshore and coastal applications, providing superior resistance to chlorides and salt spray (tested up to 500+ hours).
Food & Chemical Compatibility: Our SS304/316 materials are non-toxic and compliant with international food-grade standards, ideal for beverage dispensing and pharmaceutical piping.
Non-Magnetic Properties: High-quality 300-series stainless steel ensures minimal magnetic interference, critical for sensitive electronic and medical equipment.

Feature:
- The worm drive clamps stainless steel material made from stainless steel (typically AISI 304 for corrosion resistance). Resistant to rust, chemicals, and extreme temperatures, making it ideal for harsh environments.
- The perforations band engage with the worm gear (screw) smoothly, allowing for incremental adjustments and uniform pressure distribution around the hose, and reducing the risk of overtightening, which can damage hoses.
- The worm gear design screw engages with the perforated/serrated band, allowing fine adjustments for optimal clamping force. Unlike fixed clamps (e.g., ear clamps), you can tighten or loosen it in small increments for a perfect fit.

Application:
The worm drive clamps stainless steel are widely used across industries due to their durability, corrosion resistance, and adjustable sealing capability, such as
- Coolant hoses (radiator, heater core, water pump connections).
- Fuel lines (low-pressure fuel hoses, vent tubes).
- Air intake & turbocharger piping.
- Exhaust system hoses (EGR, vacuum lines).

Technical Highlights:
Standards: Manufactured according to DIN 3017 and SAE J1508 specifications.
Band Widths: Available in 8mm, 9mm, 12mm, and 12.7mm (1/2") options.
High Torque: Precision-engineered screw threads ensure smooth adjustment and maximum tightening torque.
Q1: What is the benefit of a full SS316 (W5) clamp over SS304 (W4)?
A: SS316 contains molybdenum, which provides much higher resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride-rich environments (like seawater). If your project is within 5 miles of a coastline, SS316 is the industry-recommended standard.
Q2: Are your stainless steel clamps magnetic?
A: Our 300-series stainless steel (SS304/SS316) starts as non-magnetic. However, during the cold-forming process of manufacturing the band and housing, some slight magnetism may occur. If your application requires strictly zero-magnetism, please contact our technical team for specialized annealing options.
Q3: How do I identify a "real" stainless steel screw vs. a plated one?
A: Plated carbon steel screws will eventually show red rust under a salt spray test, whereas our Full Stainless series (W4/W5) maintains its silver finish. We provide Material Test Reports (MTRs) for every shipment to guarantee material purity.
